Q: How did you meet Elder Luke?
A: I met Luke many years ago as a young kid. We grew up together. He had an eye for my baby sister. When she reached 14 years of age, they started a courtship. And the rest is history. Yes, literally. Vows were made, and a lifetime was enjoyed. He was more than a brother in law. We loved him as a brother. We're so proud and blessed to have him in our lives.

As one say you never forget how you met someone. A year that I lost my father was also a year the Lord bless me with another one. I realize that a Father/ Grampy to my daughter doesn’t have to be blood related. I will miss your voice heyyy Le I’m hanging in there, you talked to Bre Bre. Nonetheless, NO words can express my deepest condolences to the family. Although, losing a parent leaves an empty place in your heart, God in his mercy offers comfort with promise of eternal life through Yeshua. It’s never a goodbye it’s see you later until we meet again.

Elder Luke,
I just want to thank you for praying for me, especially during a very low point in my life. I will always remember your big smiles and the good social times you shared with us at our Adult Sunday School luncheons, and of course, your teachings in our Adult Sunday School class at Legacy Ministries Worship Center. I enjoyed your Sunday School teaching, prayer time, and just that good ole fun and laughter. You are going to be dearly missed sir. Rest in peace until we see you again. Sister Mary Harris

Thinking of you as you're gone this day.
The pain that we feel will never fade away.
As our eyes fill with tears and make us cry,
We never knew this would be our final goodbye.
Even though you have left us and now that you're gone,
The memories of you will always live on.
If God could give us our own choice,
We'd wish just once we could still hear your voice.
As days go by, we still cry and dearly miss you,
With emptiness we feel what we're going through.
Letting go is never easy as we all know.
Now you're an angel watching over us wherever we go.
Every time we think of you, pain is what we feel,
'Cause losing you this moment still does not seem real.
As we sit and think of you, it makes us start to cry,
Knowing you have gone away up into the sky.
Even though you have gone away to a better place,
We will always be missing you and the smiles on your face.
You will always be with us close within our heart,
This isn't really goodbye for us; it's just that we must part.
You fought so hard and tried your best,
No more pain for you as we now lay you down to rest.
As we all know we will meet again someday,
With your welcoming arms when we enter our way.
Miss you always and forever,
Family is what we are forever.
Love you Uncle Luke

Q: What will you never forget about Elder Luke?
A: I called to talk to my Nanny a few weeks ago, when uncle Luke heard my voice on the phone he wanted to talk. I asked him how he was doing and he said “Steph I am good. How are you doing.” His concern was for me. He knew I had recently lost my son and wanted to make sure I was ok. Such a great man of God. Such a wonderful uncle. I will cherish all the memories of him forever.
