Obituary of Janice L. Donovan

Janice Loretta Donovan (67) transitioned to her heavenly home on Wednesday, April 30, 2025, in Jacksonville, Florida. She was born November 13, 1957, and was preceded in death by her father Willie "Jay" Williams, her brother David Williams, and her beloved mother Jannie Mae Watkins. She faithfully served at New Life Church in Jacksonville for over ten years and became an ordained minister there. In recent years, Janice joined Life House in Jacksonville. Janice allowed nothing to stop her from praising the Lord and telling people how God had been good to her and healed her. Janice was a lifelong resident of Jacksonville, Florida, and grew up on the Northside of town. She graduated from Jean Ribault Senior High School, where she ran track and played softball. Upon high school, she went on to earn an Associate of Science degree in criminology. Janice spent most of her career lovingly serving as a Certified Nursing Assistant and Home Health Aid. She leaves to cherish her memories, her husband David Patrick Donovan and three children: Sherita M. Jacobs (Mario Sr), Serina Wilson (Jarjuan), and Robert "Shawn" Beeks (Demetria); grandchildren: Davion Murphy, Makalla Beeks, David Murphy, Adam Gooden Jr, Mario Jacobs Jr, Shemari Jacobs, Sierra Gooden, Kamora Wilson, Kamiyah Wilson, Robert Beeks Jr, and Amariah Beeks; Siblings: Cynthia Hall, Harold Williams, Gloria Lenton, Sharon Brown, the late David Williams, Lolita Miller, and Sabrina Belton; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, brothers and sisters in Christ. Janice Loretta Donovan will be remembered for her unwavering faith, dedication to her community, and heartfelt prayers for others. She will be missed dearly. Celebration of Life for Janice L. Donovan will be held on Saturday, May 10, 2025 at 11:00AM in the Life House Church, 2214 University Boulevard South, Jacksonville, FL 32216. Visitation will be held on Friday, May 09, 2025 from 4PM-7PM at the mortuary. Interment will be held on Monday, May 12, 2025 at 11:00AM in the Jacksonville National Cemetery.
