Michael “Karl” Shutterly, 65, passed away peacefully at his home on September 17, 2025, in Jacksonville, Florida. Born on March 11, 1960, in San Diego, CA, Karl was known as a true friend to all who knew him. 

He is remembered with love by his wife, Linda Shutterly; son, Michael Joel Shutterly; brothers Richard and Scott and sister Brindy.  Brother and sister in laws, Tim and Sheri Nash, Paula Gillard, and Paul and Pam Kicklighter.  Karl leaves behind many nieces and nephews who will carry forward his memory.

Karl was preceded in death by his parents, Richard and Betty Shutterly; mother-in-law Martha Kicklighter; as well as grandparents, aunts, and uncles who shaped the early chapters of his life.

Those who knew Karl will remember him as an avid college football lover, kind-hearted, gentle in spirit, compassionate in action, and always willing to lend a helping hand. His legacy lives on through the lives he touched—family members who loved him deeply and friends who valued his steady presence.

A private service will be held.  Karl’s laughter and fun spirit will live forever in the hearts of those who loved him.
