Gene Thomas Ziervogel, age 85, of Jacksonville, Florida, went home to be with the Lord on March 8, 2026.

Gene was born in St. Louis, Missouri, to the late William F. Ziervogel and Helen W. Ziervogel. He is survived by his brother Walter R. (Clara Jo) Ziervogel and many nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his stepdaughters, Jackie (Dale) Clinton and Aimee Wiggins; his grandchildren, Joshua (Tiffany) Clinton and Lauren (Manny) Henderson; and his cherished great-grandchildren, Hunter, Bryce, and Kinslee Clinton. Gene loved his family deeply and took great joy in the time he spent with them.

He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Violet Ziervogel Snyder, brothers William M. Ziervogel, Robert L. Ziervogel, James A. Ziervogel, and sister Sally Ziervogel.

Gene enjoyed a long and successful career as a Professional Engineer, retiring from Milton J. Wood Company. Following his retirement, he discovered a passion for genealogy. He remained very active in researching and traveling to discover the histories of his family and many friends. His dedication, curiosity, and servant-hearted spirit left a lasting impact on all who knew him.

Gene will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by his family and friends.

A service celebrating Gene’s life will be held on April 25, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at Trinity Baptist Church, 800 Hammond Boulevard, Jacksonville, Florida 32221. Visitation will take place prior to the service from 9:30 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Trinity Baptist Church, with donations designated to either the Trinity Rescue Mission or the Trinity Youth Group.
